THIS WEEK'S ''PRAYER REQUEST UPDATE'':
(4-February-2011 Issue)
... this page is in progress ...
As of the beginning of this week (30-January-2011), Sara Collins told us that she was unable to stand up or walk. Even when she could walk (as evidenced by the picture above where she walked own the hall to visit her husband in his chambers), the hospital began to emply 24-hour sitters to prevent her from getting out of her bed. Of course her muscles went limp over the following weeks.
On the second day this week (31-January-2011) Mr. Collins spoke with the hospital M.D. who told him that if a local rehab center would do a consult with his wife and report that she would benefit from rehab, he would order his wife to rehab. Mr. Collins then spoked with his wife's hospital case worker who ordered a consult from Lakeshore Rehab. Then on the morning of the fifth day this week (3-February-2011) the case worker told Mr. Collins that the Rehab consult report says that because there was no female caregiver in place for Mrs. Collins and therefore no plan yet in place for where Mrs. Collins would be allowed to go when the hospital releases her, that Rehab could not be receommended for her.
After that discussion about no rehab being approved for his wife, Mr. Collins finds a court petition in his mail box with a hearing scheduled for third day next week to appoint a conservator over his wife and place her in some elderly custodial facility. Your prayers about this ongoing situation that God will inspire and help work out what is best for all will be much appreciated.
You can send cards of encouragement to Mr. or Mrs. Collins directly to their home address as follows:
