Ann Gazulis was one of the original Modesto congregation members -- baptized in the early 1960's. Her ''friendly and kind manner'' and ''zeal for service and good works'' among the brethren will be missed until the now-soon-coming First Resurrection.

Ann Gazulis, 90, died February 10, 2011 at Vintage Faire Nursing and Rehabilitation in Modesto. She was born in November 1920 in Richmond, Virginia, to Andrew and Carry Bazacos. She moved to Oakdale, California, in 1925. She married Peter Gazulis in 1939 and they lived in Modesto before settling in Turlock in 1964. She was a member of the Church of God (Philadelphia era). She loved her grandkids and enjoyed having coffee at Olde Tyme Pastries with her friends.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Braswell (4721 Nan Ln, Salida, CA 95368-9116), two grandchildren Kevin Braswell and Julie Warren, and 5 great grandchildren with one on the way. She is also survived by her sister, Bessie Pappas of Stockton, and her brother Chris Bazacos of Thousand Oaks, CA.
Visitation will be held at Allen Mortuary on Monday, February 14, 2011 starting at 3:00pm until 7:00pm.
Services were held at Allen Mortuary on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 10:00am with private interment to follow.
